MPH Academic & Course Requirements
The MPH degree requires 42 credits, no matter which degree option a student chooses. The curriculum is competency-based and every student must meet core knowledge requirements in biostatistics, epidemiology, environmental health, health services and social and behavioral sciences. In addition, all students take one credit each in organizational management, research methods, and the Applied Learning Experience. Every concentration requires concentration specific courses as well.
The program offers several sections of required courses throughout the year so that students can create schedules that work best for them. Many classes are offered in the late afternoon or evening, and we have a robust summer session. MPH students may take up to five years to earn their degrees, although full-time students can finish in as little as three semesters.
