Biography
Dr. Rebecca Lufler earned her Ph.D. in Anatomy and Neurobiology, including completion of the Vesalius Program, from Boston University School of Medicine. The Vesalius program is unique in that it combines training in pedagogy and the medical sciences. Dr. Lufler's graduate work focused on the anatomical etiology of forefoot varus malalignment and patellofemoral osteoarthritis, as well as the effects of visual-spatial ability and use of radiological imaging on performance in medical gross anatomy.
Dr. Lufler's current research focuses on pedagogical approaches and curricular innovations at TUSM. She is also involved in national collaborations on One Health interprofessional education, and leadership development and equity in medical education. Dr. Lufler teaches clinical anatomy in the Medical, Dental, Physician Assistant, and MBS programs and directs/co-directs multiple courses. She also helped launch and is Program Co-Director of the TUSM Scholarly Project Program.
